Neurological physical therapy is focused on the treatment of an array of different disorders of the brain, spinal cord, and peripheral nerves. These disorders include Alzheimer’s disease, ALS, brain injury, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury, and stroke.

Treatment of neurological disorders in outpatient physical therapy commonly includes balance retraining, strengthening, range of motion, manual techniques, gait training, and postural exercises.
